Face it. You need bigger pants.

You’ve gained weight. And your PCOS Mental Health is suffering.

You look into your closet and don’t find many good options looking back. Nothing is very comfortable anymore. Except the generous sweaters and sweatpants.

The boyfriend cut jeans feel like they’re cutting back. You’re constantly hiking up whatever pants you can still get buttoned. Pulling them up from the knee. Maybe you unbutton a button after meals, or when sitting at your desk. Perhaps the zipper too. Blouses and tops begin hugging all the wrong curves. And your favorite leggings begin to fray where your thighs touch. Pretty soon you’re down to just a few items you CAN wear. Down goes your PCOS Mental Health.

Time to face the PCOS music.

You know you’ve gained weight. You’re not happy about it and you’re planning to lose it. You know you’ll be back in all these clothes. You’re just trying to suck it up and suck it in until you’re back down a few pounds.

The problem is that it hurts.

It hurts that you can gain weight so easily while everyone else seems to have an ice cream pass. It hurts that you will need to be impeccably diligent with your diet for quite a while, just to get back to where you were. Especially if you weren’t really happy with where you were in the first place. You see pictures of yourself when you were smaller and it just makes you want to cry.

Just let it out.

So maybe you should cry. Sometimes all that’s left to do is cry. We disagree with the belief that crying doesn’t help anything. We think it helps you let go of the pain and frustration. So, by all means let it out.

When you’re done letting go of the emotional pain, it’s time to let go of the physical pain. You need bigger pants. Go online or to your nearest store and get a couple pair in your new size. Maybe throw in a cute top. Insulin resistance and PCOS torture us enough. We don’t need to torture ourselves with clothing that cuts off our circulation and digs into our flesh.

You have work to do if you want to lose those extra pounds and you need to do it, not in anger, shame, or self-loathing, but from a loving place. Start by loving yourself with pants that fit.
