Char-Grilled Tomatoes
Description
This healthy veggie side straddles the flavor fence of fresh tomatoes and roased tomato sauce. It's simple and smells amazing as it cooks.

In a large bowl, toss tomatoes with oil, salt, and pepper. Let stand for at least 15 minutes or up to 1 hour.

Turn oven broiler to high. Place tomatoes, cut sides up on a broiling pan and cook close to overhead heat until tomatoes are charred and beginning to soften, 6 to 12 minutes. Transfer tomatoes to plates. Top with basil and sea salt.
